F.Red, The Wild Onaqui Foal, 16” x 24” Limited Edition Photo on Archival Metal.

Friendly Red was a wild yearling that snuck up behind me when I was photographing wild horses in the Onaqui Mountains of Utah. I sensed he was behind me and looked over my shoulder to see what was there. Normally I keep more than 50' away from the horses. He was a fearless but curious 3' away from me. I walked about 10 feet and looked back over my shoulder. He was about 2' away from me. I was tempted to turn and pet his cheek, but I best not because I didn't know how he would react, so I put my camera over my shoulder and took this shot. You can see why I named him Friendly Red, Fred for short.
